Within an environment of fun and excitement, we teach positive Christian values, healthy lifestyle choices and life skills through group participation, skits, firesides, music, devotional times and one-on-one interaction.

We are committed to providing an awesome experience for campers within an atmosphere that is safe physically, emotionally and spiritually, non-threatening and full of fun. Camper / staff interaction is essential to any great camp experience.

ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR

To assist the Program Director in planning, organizing, coordinating and leading the summer program. Responsible to the Executive Director and the Program Director

LIFEGUARD-

(Lead Guard 19+yrs)                

FILLED for 2018
Responsible for waterfront safety as well as being involved in the overall camp program. This position requires Bronze Cross or NLS certification (preferred). The Lifeguard will also help with other camp activities that don’t inhibit their required guarding times. The lifeguard is responsible to the Executive Director.

CLT DIRECTORS

CLT B-NEEDED for 2018
Implement our Campfire Leadership Training (CLT) program for young people aged 14 – 17 including caring, mentoring and discipling of CLTs. This person or couple must be well organized and able to lead a group of young people in Christian life discipleship, leadership development, team building, servant attitude development, service opportunities & projects as well as interaction & assistance with Camp Bob programs & activities. Preference will be given to applicants aged 25 or older. Responsible to the Executive Director.

CLT ASSISTANT DIRECTORS

1 female / 1 male

Needed for 2018                             

To assist the CLT Directors in implementing the CLT program. These individuals should be at least 19 years of age. Duties will involve sleeping in the tents with the CLT participants, providing leadership and counselling as designated by the Directors.

ROCK CLIMBING

DIRECTOR
Climbing Instructor / Rock Zone Coordinator.

Needed for 2018

Give instruction to CLT’s & Staff in safe climbing &  rappelling practices.Help with set up, break down, and supervision of rock climbing and rappelling.

Train and mentor CLT’s in all parts of rock climbing / rappelling program. Fulfilling Daily & weekly inspection records of sites and equipment. Willingness to participate in other leadership and activities as needed. Lead climbing and rock rescue experience is an asset. Ability to build safe anchors on rocks / trees in any formation. Responsible to the Executive Director

ASSISTANT ROCK CLIMBING DIRECTOR

Needed for 2018
Assist the Rock Climbing Director in all activities in the Rock Climbing / Rappelling zone. Responsible to the Rock Climbing Director

On-site cook, responsible to cook meals for campers and staff. Will work with and supervise CLT participants who help with food preparation, serving and clean up. Must be Food-safe certified. Previous experience cooking for large groups preferred.

PROGRAM STAFF

POSITION DETAILS:
Program Staff will support Adventure Camp programs in various ways – including, but not limited to – kitchen help, dishwashing, general maintenance, work projects, assisting with rock climbing, archery, sailing, waterfront, etc.  Jr. Tent Leaders will be selected from the pool of Program Staff on a weekly basis as needed. Cost: $445 (GST included) includes FREE registration as Stamper(Camper/Staff member) for Youth Camp. Separate Youth Camp registration form required. Dates needed – June 25 – August 10. Priority given to applicants with 3 week minimum or longer time commitment.

COUNSELLORS/TENT LEADERS

17+ years old

POSITION DETAILS:                                                            A tent leader will be responsible for a group of 6 – 8 campers, providing spiritual, physical, emotional and social leadership. Your goal is to ensure health, safety and acceptance of each camper in his/her cabin group; lead devotions, create one-on-one times to invite campers to faith in Christ and to disciple them in their faith; plan activities with tent group and lead or assist in instructing an activity skill. Your desire should be to live like Christ and seek to demonstrate that to campers and staff. You will also participate in the general operation and planning of the camp program. The Tent Leader is responsible to the Head Counsellor.

CAMP NURSES

Qualified nurses willing to donate 1 week of the summer (or more!) to stay at camp and help with medical needs as they arise, dispensing medication, monitoring the health and well-being of staff and campers

Help Head Cook and Assistant Cook with food preparation, serving and clean up. 

WEEKEND COOKS

Volunteers willing to come to camp from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon to cook and provide meals for staff and CLT’s including Friday supper through Sunday lunch. This gives our Head Cook and staff an opportunity for a much needed rest.

MAINTENANCE VOLUNTEER

FILLED for 2018
An individual(s) with an interest in helping with hands-on work relating to camp maintenance including garbage collection and twice/week removal, generator maintenance, boat maintenance and refueling and maintaining the camp water system. An eye for detail in keeping camp operations running smoothly. The ability to coordinate and direct a team of CLT’s in various projects. Responsible to the Executive Director.

PRAYER WARRIORS

Needed – no limit to number or age!
We need people to commit themselves to praying for the camp this summer. Pray for safety, strength, unity and that God’s spirit would have free reign this summer and that many campers would come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

LEADERSHIP

TRAINING (CLT)

CLT is an intensive 3 week Outdoor Leadership Training program designed for teens 14 – 17 years old interested in developing leadership training skills in preparation to be a counselor / future staff member at Camp Bob or with another camp, ministry or missions opportunity.

CLT is a 2-year (summer) Outdoor Leadership Training Program designed to:

  • Challenge student-leaders to grow in their personal spiritual faith journey with Jesus Christ
  • Prepare student-leaders to be a counsellor or staff member within an outdoor camp environment
  • Encourage student-leaders to discover their passion in serving others for long term social impact
  • Empower a generation of student-leaders to make a meaningful difference, making a positive impact on their culture for the Kingdom of God

CLT PROGRAM fOCUS:

  • Character development through personal spiritual growth in their own faith journey with Jesus Christ
  • Leadership training through interactive Team building
  • Skill and technique development in outdoor activities: rock climbing & belaying, archery, canoeing/kayaking, orienteering & survival skills, sailing, etc. 
  • Learning to model servant leadership through service opportunities & work projects, kitchen duties, kitchen & bathroom cleaning, site clean-up, trail maintenance, firewood, gear & supply transport, etc.
  • Interactive participation with campers during meals and activities
  • Leadership experience (year 2)- limited ‘tent time’ with campers under direct supervision of a senior counselor and opportunity to ‘shadow’ a senior counselor and/or activity leader and help with supervision of games & activities involving campers.

CLT is demanding both physically and spiritually, requiring giving of one’s self sacrificially for the benefit of the campers and the program

Participants will work hard for extended periods of time and should have a desire to grow spiritually and a willingness to:

  • Learn & try new things
  • ‘Stretch’ themselves beyond their comfort zone
  • Develop a servant attitude through practical ‘hands on’ service opportunities

Participants are expected to commit for the full 3 weeks of the program

Requests for ‘time away’ from the program to attend pre-scheduled events (such as family gatherings, weddings, etc.) must be pre-approved by the Executive Director in advance of the start date of the program. Program runs continuously for 3 weeks (including weekends) beginning Saturday at 7 pm of start date and ending on the last Friday at 5 pm. Except for medical emergencies, no refunds will be granted for participants who do not complete the program.

CLT site is a self contained site with it’s own tents, cooking & dining areas.

All food is provided for this program – $1.25/day ‘tuck’ is included in registration fees (weekends excluded). Any additional snacks are the responsibility of the participant. Additional fee of $6 / week required for laundry

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICATIONS RECEIVED BEFORE APRIL 15th.                                                                             

All Applications must be completed in full to be considered for participation in program. Space is limited — apply early.

Applications received after April 15th will be considered based upon space available.
